DJI Mavic 3 Cine

I have been flying Drones for over 5 years and although predominantly for the TV Industry I also work in other sectors from Property Developers to Roof Contractor.

I have also ventured into providing ‘Drone Time-lapse’, basically I program a route on any location which the drone will repeatedly fly when ever I return. So when you get in the edit the shot more or less match from the first days filming to the last. So you could stretch out a time-lapse over the period of months if not years.

For instance I filmed a year in the life of Kew Gardens for a Channel 5 documentary. The Director wanted to see how Kew changes over a year. This involved going down to Kew 4 times over a year and repeatedly flying set flight paths in chosen parts of the gardens capturing the seasons all in one drone move!  So you start the drone shot in the depths of winter and as you fly the route it changes almost seamlessly into spring, then summer to Autumn and eventually back to winter all in about 10 second! The programme hasn’t been aired yet but it will be shown on Channel 5 soon.

If you have any questions send me an email or give me a call.

DJI Mavic 3 Cine

I fly Drone platforms DJI Mavic 3 Cine.

The Mavic 3 Cine is a ground breaker, don’t be fooled by it’s small form factor this small drone over delivers. Astonishingly it has the same Micro 4/3 sensors as the DJI Inspire 2!  The Cine version records 5.1K ProRes 422HQ 10 bit video images with astonishing depth and clarity. Perfect for more discrete, reduced space filming or productions with limited budget.

I offer both as additional items to be added to my standard Cameraman rate or as a stand alone Drone Operator.

Tech Spec

DJI raised the bar again by releasing the Mavic 3 Cine, not only did they increase the sensor size, add a Hasselblad lens and increase flight time they added Apple ProRes 422 HQ. This allowed a great dynamics range for more flexible grading plus the added benefit of recording an unbelievable 1 billion colours!

The smaller form factor means this drone is a more discrete option than the Inspire if filming in places which require sensitivity. It’s also better suited for flying interior locations or tight locations such as woods or built up areas.
